Panic! At the Disco is invading!October 26 A trip to Singapore..... :PSingapore Mission!
Woohoo! I finally got myself on my yearly Singapore trip, but sadly, I didn't achieve my mission there, sigh.... I was hoping to get the magazines I missed out on and is unavailable here during the trip, but I couldn't find any of them! The only one I found was Kerrang! September 30 issue, but it was in a horrible form, tattered and torn, so I didn't buy it (Its cost almost $20++!) . Kinokuniya (which I used to go to for my magazine supplies) completely sold out the October Kerrang! issue (which has 3 pages of Panic! interview...) *cries* This suck, I can't find any of the magazines I am looking for! I got a copy of Big Cheese Magazine (which has a 3 pages feature on Panic!) and another copy of SPIN October issue for safekeeping :P (because that is the ONLY magazine I can find with Panic! on the cover....)
I regretted not starting my Panic! interviews hunt last month, cuz it seems like there was A LOT of magazines with features on Panic! for September/August issues but I couldn't because I had that fricking final year exam! Now, I couldn't get any of the magazines -anywhere- because they already return them to the distributor or something..... sigh.....
(It seems to me that almost no one here sells Kerrang! The local Kinokuniya doesn't sell them anymore (I wonder why) and most of the mag stores I went to says the distributor don't stock them anymore either...)
Anyway, I spent a lot of money on this trip, but its because I used up all my allowance for Panic! stuff for other things, like manga and stuff, lol. I was mad because I couldn't get any Panic! stuff, that I forgot to check out for any Panic! single sold! (I am such an idiot!) Now, I had to wait until Christmas or something....Money spent : $180++
Btw, I noticed there was a lot of photoshoots of The Killers in various non-music and music magazines, depicting them in Old American style (y'know, those 60s and 70s detective look in black and white style). Are they aiming for a more serious look or are they trying modelling or something... I don't know.... I find it funny that there's bands who does that, but its kinda unique, I guess.... I kind of like the Entertainment issue on their take on The Killers movie, very nice. Y'know, at first I was shocked by their new look you know (I thought it was another band, haha!) but I kind of like their new look now, maybe they didn't want to be mistaken as Panic!? (I mean their first single from their last album, Hot Fuss : Mr Brightside kind of resembles the 'But its Better You Do' from Panic!) and since they were -both- from Vegas, maybe they didn't want to depict the same things? (Panic! takes on the burlesque and caberet side of Vegas while The Killers takes on the cowboy old casino style of Vegas) Very interesting, I am hoping to get their album soon, all I have is a download of 'When You Were Young' which is their first single, I am hoping to listen to the rest of the new songs. (But I still like Brandon's old look, haha, he looks -much- older now....) And its funny that while they (Panic! and Killers) were involved in a scramble when Flowers mentioned that he thinks emo is dangerous and he wants to kill them (for the LAST time, Panic! is -not- emo!), their lead singer shares almost the same name, lol! Destiny can be such cruel fate, haha.
October 20 I got it ^_^!O god, I finally got my hands on ONE copy of Kerrang! I swear, its freaking hard to get them here! I was looking all over the place and finally, one tiny shop at the top of a shopping centre stocks them! I am sooo happy! I got the Reading and Leeds special with the CD in them, haven't browse through them, and the article in it is the ONLY one I have that the scans isn't clear! I am so happy! I will upload it soon, promise! :) |
